Problem

There are a few reasons why Valorant doesn't allow its players to play in another region. One of them is the speed concern when a player from another country or region is queuing up to play on a server very far away from them.

That's probably going to ruin some players' game experience. So there is one way to get around this. You can only change your RoR by changing your physical location... so the best way to appear to be in a different region with a reliable speed connection to another part of the world is through a VPN.

How to change regions on Valorant with a VPN?

  • First, you need to get a VPN. We will use ExpressVPN, I think is the best one for the job as it is reliable, fast, and highly secure.
  • Connect to a server in the country you would like to change your RoR (Region of Residence).  
  • Then visit this page, click the "Login" button at the bottom of the page, then sign in with your credentials.
  • You can see the "Login" button should be replaced with one that says "Check".
  • Click on it and follow the instructions to confirm your change.  

If you're unable to do so with the steps above, try submitting a ticket with the following info:

  • Username
  • Riot ID and Tagline
  • E-mail address
  • Current RoR
  • RoR you want to transfer to

Things to take note of before changing your RoR

  • 90-day cooldown period. After changing your RoR, you will not be able to change it again for 90 days.
  • After changing your RoR, some data may not be transferred over.

Data that does transfer:

  • Characters
  • Collection, your skins, player cards, sprays, etc
  • Mission/Contract/BattlePass Progress
  • MMR
  • Loadout
  • Shared Affinity
  • Previous season's rank rewards

Data that does not transfer:

  • Current ranked season data
  • Match history
  • Purchase history

NOTE:

  • If you transferring between North America, Brazil, and Latin America, all your data including current season progress, match history, and purchase history is going to be transferred.
  • Players who are in the South Korea RoR will not be able to move to the Japan RoR.
  • If you want to change your RoR to Vietnam, you have to be Vietnam permanent resident. Unfortunately, a VPN is not enough for Vietnam.
  • If you want to be in South Korea you will have to create a new account in that region. You can set your VPN location to South Korea while signing up for a new account, so it registers your RoR in South Korea.
